Let it snow!

Just had to share the sock snowmen we made at our party today.  We had so much fun.  One of the games was we took playground balls and tissue paper.  Each team had to cooperate and make a snowball.  When they were finished they added the nose and eyes. What fun it was to watch.  Happy Holidays everyone!  This truly is my last post for awhile.  I may have to break down and put my boys picture up.  For the first time in 5 years we will all be home together for the weekend.  It's not Christmas but close enough.  Michele

Who knew a sock could look so cute??!!

Winter

The calendar says that winter arrives on January 21st.  You would not know it looking outside my window!  for us in the Northern areas it is still relatively mild.  But just to provide a little "snowy" fun with some great books I created this packet.  I think the kiddos will love making the little "dressed for snow" character. One of the freebies is available for you below.  Michele

Download Information for freebie!

Winter lights! Friday freebie!!

We have been traveling around the world this week.  It was a perfect opportunity to get in facts about other countries and traditions.  Each child created a passport and we visited 6 different countries on several continents.  I did not include all the fact pages but each country had a fact page as well as a student work page with a "mini" craft.  We loved it.  Below the video is a little "freebie" related to this.  Michele

"Snow" much fun!

Today we are making our parent gift.  My husband cut the boards for me.  We painted them white.  Today we are adding the final touches all from Walmart.  Ribbon, buy one get one free, socks were 50% off and buttons I paid full price.  I used orange foam for the noses.  Keep your eye open throughout the year and purchase with the sales.  This makes a cute but inexpensive gift.  You could probably even go to the lumber yard and ask for their scrap lumber.  Just a thought!

Wednesday 12-12-12

My kiddos were so excited today! 12/12/12 They thought that was just about the neatest thing.  Me I just kept thinking 6 more school days and then I can focus on the holiday and all the people I have coming for three days.  I frazzled at school because we still have not made our gifts for our parents, tomorrow I have promised myself, and since I had not one parent volunteer to head up our December party guess who is in  charge...yep me.  But I've decided we'll make our snowman socks, wrap a ball to look like a snowman head and play pin the nose on the snowman.  Keep posted for pictures of all of the above.
Now...for today's freebie I am posting one of the pages from our Classroom Elf project.  What a success it has been.  The class named him Rockie and they really believe he keeps a "lookout" for me.  Who said a little trickery would not work?  I also know for a fact that bribery works!  Happy 12/12/12 everyone!  Michele
Oh my goodness!  I just took a look at all the new blogs on TpT.
It could be a full time job looking at all of them.
No wonder it is tough to find followers.
A wealth of ideas though.  If I was a beginning teacher I would be in "Blog Heaven"!

Friday "freebie"!

Have spent the last two days in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida with my parents.  Needless to say I am unsure what happened the last two days at school.  I did request a sub that I just love.  She sent me a text...Your class is very ACTIVE this year.  I thought yep!!  So with my parents we were brainstorming how people and snowmen are alike.  My father, who raised 4 daughters, says...They both have meltdowns!  You gotta love it.  Guess what is coming next week?  Michele
